The Quran highlights this, stating, <em>\u201cYour Lord has decreed\u2026good treatment to parents. If one or both reach old age with you, say not to them [even] \u2018uff,\u2019 and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word\u201d<\/em> (Quran 17:23). This means treating parents with kindness, patience, and gentleness, especially as they age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that pleasing one\u2019s parents brings Allah\u2019s pleasure: <em>\u201cThe pleasure of the Lord is in the pleasure of the parent\u201d<\/em> (Tirmidhi).
